about

Bass player, composer and music producer Peter Muller returns with his 3rd album "No Mind"! "The new album explores my favourite musical worlds from Soul to Jazz, Fusion to R&B - but Funk is the red line that holds it all together. This is where I come from and the reason I started making music!" This is what Peter says about his new work - and you can definitely hear it! "No Mind" is full of pulsating Funk, meeting Jazz, Fusion, Soul and R&B. The unique Muller sound in a hot brand new album.

The record kicks off with „Berlin Street Funk“, arranged and mixed in 70's soul style with Fender Rhodes, Clavinet, Talkbox. Although Funk clearly dominates the first half of the album, Muller never stays purely within the genre, but the arrangements surprise with jazzy themes and chord changes ("Golden Rules") as well as fragments of Blues und Neo-Soul ("Time"). As the album continues you suddenly find yourself deep into fusion with the breathtaking "Stagger" and the mysterious "Analogue Moon" where Muller show his skills on the fretless bass.

Mullers bass work is fresh and innovative, he avoids overlong solos and stereotypes, gives a lot of space to the excellent guest musicians, amongst them drummer Sebastiaan Cornelissen (Randy Brecker, Gary Willis, Frank Gambale), trumpet player Christian Kappe (Trilok Gurtu, Barbara Dennerlein, Jasper van't Hof), legendary British saxman Frank Mead (Paul McCartney, B.B. King, Al Green) or guitarist Tim Cansfield (Bee Gees, Tina Turner, Elton John).

For the first time Muller uses vocals on one of his albums and introduces Australian Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nick Gibbs, who is a fantastic new voice on the scene and also contributed as a composer on a couple of songs.

Gibbs also kicks off the last third of the album with the energetic Soul tune „Something `Bout Your Love“, with impressive groove from the whole band. Before the album ends with the percussive and ethnic "Earth Tune" and the silky-smooth "Horizon", Muller brings back the Funk on "The Trek“ with heavy Hip-Hop drums, Talkbox and fat Fender Jazz Bass sound.

„No Mind“ is a diverse and superb sounding album with a groove and energy which gets you right from the first slap!
